Biodynamic gardening is a holistic, natural approach to organic gardening that uses
various sprays made from herbs, some of which are used to inoculate compost
piles. A detailed astronomical calendar is used to determine optimal planting
and harvesting cycles. Schedule10:00-11:00 Nature walk with Candace Hack 11:00–12:00 Biodynamic gardening at White Violet Center with Mark Trela 12:00 – 1:00 Pitch-in lunch at White Violet Center, informal Q&A.

Discussion of IOGA Programs and Activities DirectionsSaint Mary-of-the-Woods College is located near Terre Haute in west-central Indiana. Please refer to the directions provided on the college's website to navigate from your location. This map of the campus streets will also be helpful, as well as a campus overview map that shows the location of main buildings and facilities. We will park near the greenhouse across the street from White Violet Center. Once you come into the main entrance of the college from St. Mary's Road, follow The Avenue to Grotto Lane. Turn right onto Grotto Lane, then left on Providence Place. At Orchard Lane, you should see the greenhouse to the left. If you will be joining us for the nature walk at 10am, please meet at the beginning of the nature trail near the straw bale retreat house at St. Joseph Lake. The entrance to the nature trail is about 1/2 mile further on Providence Place. Around 11am we will gather at the White Violet Center with Mark Trela to begin his biodynamic gardening discussion. Ride Sharing? We've never tried this before but the distance necessitates some thoughts about ride sharing. This event has been set up on Rideshare.us with event lookup code "iogawvc" You'll need to register for an account in order to participate. If you have any questions, please email
