Our Mission
To educate ourselves and others in the reasons for and methods of
environmentally friendly gardening and to encourage the reduction of chemical
dependency in gardens, lawns, and farms.
What is IOGA?
We are a non-profit organization with roots in the late 1960s and our
name describes our goal: ecologically friendly growing. We are a happy band of
individual gardeners who aspire to grow safe food and uncontaminated flowers
using natural methods. Most of us are home gardeners and we are fortunate to
have a few market farmers and herb
growers among us.
Our
quarterly newsletter,
The
Hoosier Organic Gardener, offers information
for growing a variety of plants, procedures to develop healthy soil, and alternatives to
applying toxic
chemicals.
It also include announcements about our
upcoming meetings and other items of
interest to natural gardeners. The newsletter is included as part of
membership.
If
you have questions or
